Post 3+ Months Ago

I have an HP Scanjet 4570c scanner that had been working well. Then, I went to start it and could not power it up. I tried another outlet and the same thing happened. Next try, it worked...but only for 10 seconds or so before shutting off.

In the dozens of times I have tried to get it to GO on and STAY on, it only powers up about 5% of the time...and then shuts off. (I tried using the scanning program to see if it would make the scanner work, but -- as I anticipated -- the computer did not recognize the scanner and I couldn't successfully install it.)

Any thoughts on this? Is the problem in the scanner? The power cord?

Thanks.

Try uninstalling all the drivers/software related to the scanner, reboot, reinstall, reboot and see what happens.

Sounds to me like a bad power supply. If it is still under warrenty, call HP and describe your problem. They may be able to send you a replacement.
