Hi, I just reformatted this computer and installed the driver for the sound but the sound is still scratchy. I did not have this problem until upgrading into Windows XP. Please help me!

What is your soundcard?
What are the driver versions you installed?
What speakers/headphones are you using?
What are your system specifications?
What version of Windows XP are you using?

These questions are very important to diagnosis and fix your problem.

I've not heard of a drive causing sound problems... check your cables, sounds like one's not in quite all the way.

Possibly a bad cable. Is there any visible wear on the outside of the cables?
