Me and my mate are setting up a home studio to record band etcetc, we've heard that its going to take up a lot of memory to record and store audio data, so we've got a stand alone computer not on the network just for recording.

Just wondered if anyone knew what the minimum requirements are eg :

ram
hdd
processor

Especially a high end soundcard. I would recommend the X-Fi. It has the newest and best technology yet.

well friends in the music business. sound forge is a wonderful program to use for editing as is Adobe Audition, however that's going to be a tish bit more expensive. You could take my computer if you wanted... my 1.25 TB pc... but you'd have to come up to fargo... that would be a really good audio pc. Now the question is going to be how are you going to go into the PC? if you're going to use a mixer make sure you have enough connections for all of the mics and any midi devices or any other kinds of devices that you're going to be using.

if there's anything else i can help you don't hesitate to email me... i'm always checking it
