Hi All,

Usually, i use TeraTerm program in my laptop and connect to sf280r Serial Port A to console directly. So far it was working well for years.

Yesterday i tried to console directly to sf280r but i was shock to discovered that no messages come out. Press Enter button for several times but with No luck. No message, No activity, No login output. Eventually, i press power button for 5 seconds then power on the server. Upon power on the server, i still DONT see any messages output on Serial Port A but the server is UP & Running well, which i can telnet to the server.

- What happen to my server?
- Why there is no message output on Serial Port A?
- How to resolve my problem?

Please note, i have several sf280r servers running and when i console directly, i am able to see the output message like it asking for username and password.

My Server Environment:
OS: Solaris 9 04/04
Kernel: 118558
CPU: 2x 1200MHz
RAM: 2048GB

I need help to guide me to resolve my issue as serial port output is necessary for server maintenance purposes.

Regards,
James B

Hi Zealous,

Unfortunately No error or other critical messages in the log files.

Any suggestion?
