I have a minor problem here, we are devloping some POS software that makes use of USB Cash Drawers. What I need to do is allow multiple PCs to use this cashdrawer without user intervention to take control of the device. Anyone have any ideas how this could be accomplished here are the devices/software I have tried to no avail already:
Just Com, Auto Senseing USB Sharing Hub
Digi Anywhere USB
USB @nywhere

Any suggestions would be appreciate.

Thats usually not possable. You may be able to fabricate some cables to split the signals out to all the computers, but that would depend on how the cash drawer works. If all it does is send a signal to click the latch and make the drawer pop out, it just may work.

Have one computer host the USB cash drawer. The other computers via a TCP/IP network will connect to the host computer and open the drawer that way.

Write a simple socket at some very hight numbered port and some basic handshake. Shouldn't take more than 2 minutes to write it. Then have that little server execute the normal subroutine to open the cash drawer. Have the other machines call the external subroutine with initiates the handshake with the host system.

What language are you writing this in?

Wouldn't you have to be able to edit the POS software for that to work? To send the command to the TCP/IP port rather than a physical device?

Also let me add to the above, I am not the one devloping the program I am a tester, and our devlopment is reluctant to make changes to the program, so a device that will do this would be awesome, if one exsists.
