I was talking to Blink182av and he told me how i can set up my router, blah blah blah

anyway i Found a Swtich for a good price but turns out that i need my computer connect to the internet at the same time as my xbox is on

Because, I use a program called XbOx connect. What IT does is basicly "tricks" my xbox to think its connect thru lan But is really connect to the internet. Hell i cant explain it here it tells you here http://www.XBconnect.com

What im asking is if there is something other than a switch that lets me use my Xbox And PC Internet at the same time?

A "hub" i think? idk

Most of my friends use a router without problems with their XBox.

I'm curious to know why your router won't work?

Errrr... You can't split Cat5 with a Y cable. You'd get all kinds of noise and cross talk.

make a carboard replica of the modem, put it in your room, and tell gramps that you cant fix his connection when he asks you when there is none
