Hi,

I am having a problem with my sound on my computer.

I start up the computer and hear the usual startup chimes. The problem is that once my computer starts up, I don't have any sound !

Then when I shut down the computer, I hear the shut down chimes again !

I'm guessing that there is a process that is hijacking my sound for the duration of my session, but I don't know which one it is, and how to kill it.

Please help

Thanks

Hello,

I am no comp geek. Did you go to ask at other forums its fine I just need to know what you already tried...it could help a bit.

Have you tried the following?

A recorded disc in the drive:
Are there any loose wires:
Is your audio system plugged in at the wall and cables correctly plugged in to the right sockets.

Have you tried start --> audio devices -> audio -->troubleshoot -->and properties.

Make sure none of the sound levels are ticked to mute.

Maybe the soundfile is corrupt. Try to change it through Control Panel
