I recently updated my computer, new mother board, ram, gfx card, cpu.

I was running Windows ME. Not checking if the sound works i went and installed XP. Now this is my friends cd, so its burnt. Not Retail.

Now, im playing games.. music.. you name it!!!
Where my sound??? These is none i thought untill putting my ear right up to the speakers to hear sound.

I went into sound options put it up, still the same.. this small amount of sound you can hear only if your ear is on the speakers.

So, i went through my Audio Options, advanced audio options and put everything up on full volume.. its the same.. re-installed the new sound driver what came with my mother board.. same..

Plugged in my headphones.. same.
Put in different speakers.. same!!!!

Can someone help?? I have all the sound options i can think of on full.
Ive tried trouble shooting etc!!

( One thing tho, i rang the store which done my comp and they suggested re-installing xp and doing a 'clean' install rather than what i done which is replacing the OS with what i have so i still have my documents etc )

Have you tried uninstalling XP and seeing if it works correctly with ME?
If it works fine, you can say its XP that is causing the problem.

If it is, try doing a clean install. What O/S does the card support?
