Hi, I spilled some water on my laptop but i dried it out and turned it on the next morning and it worked fine. However, one thing that's broken is that the laptop says that there's no battery, when there is. It works when I plug it to a power source but it is no longer mobile as it does not recognize a battery. I replaced it with a new battery and its the same deal. Is there any solution?? By the way it is a Mac PowerBook G4.

My Cousin had the same problem with her Laptop(Compaq). I turned it off took out the battery for about an hour, then put it back in and it was fine. I'm not real sure, never had the chance to work with a Mac. Is there a bios you can get into and check the power resources. You might want to check out Mac's website in the faq section maybe someone has had the same problem.

Sorry for not being more helpful..........
Good Luck :)

Your best bet is to call Apple and see how to perform a hard reset of your powerbook.

It sounds like the ACPI function of the computer is on the blink and needs a swift kick in the CMOS. :)
