I happened to accidently spill a good amount of a mix of ginger ale and sprite all over my laptop while it was off but the battery was in. When I removed the batttery I heard a sizzling noise and smoke started to come out of the vents. Any explinations? The laptop is luckily covered by the dell accidental warranty, by the way it is a inspiron 9100. Do you think they will repair it or replace it? Any thought? Also, the laptop has absolutley no function, even the battery has died. Thanks.

i hade a sony laptop like 5years back that ended up getting sent back for repair and they said they could not fix it and a spare part would not be ready for it for 6 months and they didnt want to give us our money back so we told them to give us the money back or they would be hearing from our attorneys, next day, money was in my account...what i am saying is,be though with them and u can get your money back if they try to pull something like that with u....

I've heard Dell is very good to deal with. I've heard of ppl smashing their laptops out of frustration, and having them replaced - no questions asked.
