Hi!

I have a CL56 laptop with synapics touchpad (driver v7.12.7, have also tryed the version that came with the laptop).
The problem is that the coursor jumps back to it's orginally position when I try to move it. It doesn't happen all the time, but only in small periods. Somebody that have an solution on the problem? Will be very greatfull if somebody know what's wrong..

Often times it is just the pad itself not being a very accurate one. If you can turn down the sensetivity try that, you may have something lodged in the pad that is making it go back there.

In your mouse properties under Device Settings, highlight your touchpad and choose settings. Expand sensitivity and select palm check. Try adjusting the sensitivity there. I know sometimes when I'm typing I have that accidental palm touch and next thing I know I'm typing in the middle of a prior line of something because it jumped back to the original point.

I assume you will have that feature. My notebook is only about 6 months old, but it's a Synaptics pad.

"..you may have something lodged in the pad that is.."
iamb sorry, but I don't understand the word lodge, what does it mean in other words?

It didn't work though, but thanks for all answers!
If anybody else have a tip, I would be very happy to hear it...

This link may not provide anything that can help you, but there are a couple tips in it that may be of value. But it is so informative that I had to share it:

Other things I found:

I also found that we should probably ask what OS you are using. There's quite a lot to be read in this Google search: synaptics touchpad mouse jumps

But it does seem like many of those initial results are related to Linux.
