Hi Guys,
I really need your help. I was working on my Monitor Resolution in the Display Properties,
I dont know what I did or clicked on, I was unable to find my Taskbar.
I went into Control Panel, cliked on Taskbar and Menu properties hoping I could solve the
problem from their, but nothing is coming up. As I'm posting this, virtually nothing
is functioning on my system. Though, the system is not hanging or freezing, all the Icons are clickable and working,
but each time I click on them, nothing is coming out. Ranging from
My Document Icon, My Computer, Internet Explorer, Recycle Bin.
All Sofware Appications. Anything you could think of. Anytime I clieck on any of this,
they seems like coming up, but they wont. Please, I really need a help on this.
Even the Display Properties is not poping out.

Thanks.

I'm not really sure, but it sounds like the programs are opening, just not on the visable screen. Did you extend the desktop somehow.

I would reboot in safe mode and set your resolution back to 800x600, then reboot into normal XP and see if you see it all again.

That won't work. Safe mode opens in 640x480 and you can't change your display resolution there.

What operating system is this?

Hmmm,

When you Alt-Tab does it show that little menu in the center of the screen with icons for each open program. I still think somehow you extended the desktop beyond the visable area.

I wonder if you unistalled the video drivers, and used the generic windows ones if that would help? I am not sure if that works.

Sorry if I'm not making sense just thinking out loud.

There is a way to modify the boot.ini to force windows to load with standard VGA drivers. That's why I was asking what operating system. With XP you can modify boot.ini by adding /BASEVIDEO and it will load with standard VGA drivers in 640x480 res.
