Asus Lamborghini vs. Acer Ferrari

What's next? The Dell DINAN M3?

I want to see a Gateway laptop called the Ford Mustang with a 600ci super-charged nitromethane motor with slicks and skinnies. </TIM_ALLEN_BARK>

for real, though...

acer ferrari
asus lamborghini
dell dinan m3
sony viper
gateway mustang
toshiba alfa romeo... where will it end? (okay okay, so 2/3rd's of those are make-believe, but still...)

anyways, my money's on the lamborghini (i hear it's a dolled-up V6V or V6Va or something)... can't wait to get my hands on an asus laptop... been rocking their motherboards for a minute and i hear that they're the folks who build apple's powerbooks, so...

For some reason, the name Acer rings a knockoff bell for me. :scratchhead:
Asus on the other hand, I'm quite familiar with being performance oriented. :D

I wonder if Porsche will jump on this bandwagon (unless they have & I missed it), though I could see it being in the handheld market with the compactness of thoose cars.

if it's a modification of the V6V, as it seems it is, it probably won't be too expensive... depends on what they put inside it, i guess... but right now, you could build a really strong machine off the V6V/V6Va whitebox for under 1500...

I'll still go for the Acura TL of laptops. Sleek and sporty yet refined and luxurious and with that rock-solid, will always start day after day, never let you down repute.

and what would be the acura tl of laptops?
and, once you've answered that, what's the honda of laptops? (the more economical machine made by the same folks who make the acuras)

That's a good question. I would have to say HP business laptops or the new IBM Thinkpads.

For a standard laptop its under $900. The upper escalon's usually run $1100-$1400

yeah... no doubt... thinkpad's prolly the honda of laptops... about as solid as you can get... they don't look nice and the basic ones ain't too wild, but they're mad reliable, cheap to fix and can kick ass if you pimp 'em out...

too bad ibm don't sell body kits...

Anyway the Ferrari Notebook has an XP Home OS. That's a bit cheap I think. I'm not sure about the screen resolution but it should have at least an SXGA+ or WSXGA+

I dont know about anyone else, but I never use the standard image that comes on pre-build computers. I always immediately reload them. they come just so saturated with crap nowadays.

FAT32 is probably kiding the fact they are using a tiny 5400 rpm drive or a drive with a piss poor seek latency... Fat32 does have small speed advantages over NTFS. but NTFS is so much more worth it.
