What version fo windows? It could be an incompatability with the windows version and the Java sdk.

I don't think that system even meets the minimum requirements to run Java 1.4.

whoops, just saw 2000 pro.

Uhm, still looks like a hardware mismatch to the jdk.

hai,
It has a 128 MB of memory and 4GB hard disk. The other java programs run well except swings and applets. I checked the system properites for graphics it has only a 16 bit color VGA cord of 800 x 600
how to upgrade the adapter for larger pixels.

What kind of video adapter is in the machine? Check the drivers.

I run into an issue with certain video cards that won't run some java apps without a BSOD. Usually lab computers which are old as heck and have crappy onboard or jaton video cards. But that was a while ago, the company recently rolled out new machines to all the labs, anything less than a 3.0Ghz they force on the interns.

Jaton video cards no matter what chipset seem to cause trouble with some intensive java apps. But then again, Windows causes problems too.

Load Solaris on the machine, be a whole lot happier. :D
