Post 3+ Months Ago

I have an old IBM Thinkpad, around four or five years old. It has given me a great deal of trouble, but I've always been able to fix them, this problem however has me stumped. When I try to turn it on it begins with a blue screen that says it is checking my files, after that it skips to a screen that asks if I want to start normally and so on. It keeps skipping back and fourth from those two screens; I left it to see how long it would do this and after two hours I had to shut it off. It only works in safe mode at the moment.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Run msconfig and disable all under startup. Reboot and see what happens.
