I got a Toshiba p105 laptop tonight, and a Kensington USB mouse to go with it. But the USB mouse only works for a short time after I plug it in, then it just freezes and only the touchpad will work. Does anyone have any suggestions for such a problem? I'm using XP Media Center Edition.

Thanks in advance,
Logan

Edit: Just to add a few details;

1) The mouse remains lit up, so I doubt it's a problem with the connection
2) I can fix the problem temporarily by unplugging and replugging the mouse.

more precisely, goto http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais ... c_home.jsp and click "downloads" for your mouse driver.
if it still cannot work after you install the driver, try return back the mouse to the retailer and ask for a replacement.

Is this a wired mouse or wireless?

I had this happen with a Microsoft USB wireless laser mouse.

I am facing the same problem too, and finally I found it is a driver problem. So most probably yours is the driver problem too. Get the update driver from your vendor.
