eh, so, I saw, "USB 2.0" in store (external Cd burner), and i was wondering, if I needed a new USB card slot thing for my comp.. or would the USB slot that came with comp from 2000 work... for 2.0?

or does it work on any usb card slot on comp :P
just confuses me a bit, the Normal USB "1.1" and 2.0... do they require new cards.. or stuff...

*sigh*

USB 2.0 devices will work with USB 1.1 ports, which is probably what you have. But although they will work, you will only get like 1/200th of the available bandwidth.

If you wanted to take full advantage of the USB 2.0 device, you'd have to get a USB 2.0 card. But if you have a desktop, it would be much cheaper and easier to just buy an internal component, instead of an external one.
