can some one tell me how do i know that my computer can handle a USB 2.0 pluge.... see im looking for an External DVD burner and i found one.. but it said it has an usb 2.0 that come with it.... can my computer take it..??

Even if your PC only has USB 1.0 or 1.1 ports it will be able to handle the USB 2.0 device. The only difference is the USB ports will only work at the USB 1.x speed.

What kind of motherboard do you have? You could look in the manual or look for the specs sheet online.

i have a notbook computer.. with a celeron inside... its called a Inspiron 1100 i got it from dell about a year and a half ago/// does that help

It has 2 USB 2.0 ports. Why didn't you just do a Google search for Dell Inspiron 1100 and look at the spec sheet?
