The other day i was looking through a video of a holiday my family once took 13 years ago and there was a scene in this picture i wanted to put onto my computer so i could amend it and eventually take a photo print of it.

I wondered if there was any software or wires that i could link from my VHS tape player to my laptop which would allow me to show the video on my laptop so i could do some sort of screen print. If there is any kind of software as well.

I dont know if you understand what i am asking, any questions and i'll get back as soon as i can.

Thanks in advance!

If you have a video capture card, or a tv card, you can just plug your video straight into your computer and your away.

Is your question related to how to play that on the laptop or how to take screenshot from a video?

Answer to the first is exactly what theak has described and answer to the second is to use a video editing software. You can do that with built-in Windows Movie maker. You will be able to take any shot from any time period.
