So i got my girlfriend a new chaintech geforcefx 5200 for christmas. I installed it however and the task bar disappeared from the bottom of the screen. i downloaded all of the latest drivers and it's not anything with the screen resoloution. It's a pci card and she's running winxp home. I guess i've done everything that i can think of and i know nothing else to do as their support isn't necessarily the best over there at chaintech.

Any ideas on your guys experiences?

Thanks in advance
Jonathan

Did you try right clicking it, make sure it isnt locked, and drag it up? It could also be the monitor. Play with the settings on it a little.

it's not hiding on the bottom. checked that already it's just gone- not quite sure where it went *poof* it went. i haven't had the chance to see if it ran away for good or if i can fix it by changing it over to the integrated card or pulling that completely. going to check that when i get home.

what blink182 meant was [i think] was when you installed the graphics card, could the monitor hve enlarged the actual picture size so that the task bar cant be seen?

when i tried doing ctrl+esc the start menu doesn't come up so i'm guessing it's not that, but i can try zooming out the monitor. i'll take a look into it though as well... any other ideas anybody?
