I need to power-on my desktop from my notebook, both are connected to a wireless router, my desktop thru the wired ports, and my laptop wirelessly. I'm able to wake-up the desktop from S1 (Normal stand-by) and S3 (Suspend-to-RAM) power states, but not from S5 (Soft-off i.e AC power is turned on, but computer is shutdown)

My motherboard (Intel D865GBF) manual states that i can power-on the system from S5 from a LAN or a PCI card wake-up signal, but it just doesnt happen.
The LAN is connected thru a PCI Ethernet card, which is supposed to be 'Wake-on-LAN' compliant.
All the relevent options are enabled in bios and windows.

Any Ideas?
