The timings need to match as well. It'll be a huge headache unless you buy exactly indentical RAM modules.

They may work, I have never tried it. Thing is, if you do that then they won't be a "Matched Pair". The whole point behind the phrase "Matched Pair" is that the pair are identical in every way.

You might be able to get away with using RAM from 2 different companys by matching speed and density, but the best thing to do is make sure that you are using identical matched sticks on your board.


Yes I know that I am repeating myself...you have a 50/50 shot so long as the density is the same for both sticks. 8)
