Hello,

My computer has been kinda slow recently and i think it is mainly due to the programs that i have got installed that when run require a lot of memory i rently opened my computer up for he first time ever and i took the memory out to see if i could determin what one i need.

However it was just a load of numbers and i could not make anysense from them and i am hoping that one of you guys might be able to.

This is what it said on it -
---------------------------------------------
Vdata VDD8608A8A - 75B
H0322

DDR266 (2.5)

MDGVD3F3G31AZH
----------------------------------------------

The computer that i have got is a -

Microsoft Windows xp
Home edition
Version 2002
sevice pack 1

hyunju

intel(r)
Pentium(r) 4 CPU 2.40GHz
2.39GHz
256MB of Ram

Inside i have got two more spaces for memory.

Anyone have any ideas on what ram i can get? i tried getting in contact with my computer manufacturers but they are crap and there main site is in japenesse and there europe site is not much better.

Hope you are able to point me in directions on what type my computer can have.

Thanks

Tone

you more than likely have DDR333/PC2700 Ram.
I would just say buy more of the same ;), something like this:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/GeIL_Value.html

check the Ram frequency, so you want Pc2700 Ram.
even the cheap stuff will do if your not an overclocker, so just check your local store as they are probably much cheaper than the branded stuff i suggested.

//Edit, actually, to be sure, what is the FSB of your processor, I am not 100% on Ram/processors, but usually a processor around that speed uses PC2700 Ram

Run system information , it should be in Start | programs | system tools | System Information.

Look for 'System Model' on the first page that displays. You should be able to find some information about it on the web.

Post the model here as well.

Looks like it's Socket 478, 533/400FSB
VIA P4X400/8235 Chipset. DDR333, so I believe nucleo is correct.

I couldn't find too much out about your specific system on that companies website.

all DDR333 memory is the same, they all run at the same frequency. (apart from perhaps layout and cooling)

just pick how much you would like...
i would recommend 2x256mb PC2700, or if you have the money, 2x512mb PC2700.

all you are looking for is the number: PC2700

yeah dude all you need to do is tell the guy you need 266 memory... thats all, then tell him the size of memory you want 128mbs, 256mbs etc

above they are telling you to get 333 ram.... this costs more the 266 and when you put the 333ram into your motherboard it will only run at 266 anyhow so buy the 266 ram.
