I would suggest looking for a Cisco type course that will help you towards your CCNA. The CCNP is wayy down the line.

I had a class like this in highschool and it was specifically sponsored by cisco and we learned all of the commands and inner workings of the cisco modems and routers and affiliated networking devices.

If you are looking forward to get a career in hardware networking then CCNA is the perfect course for you.
