No sound when playing this file using Windows Media Player.

Sound works fine with other files but with this one I only get the video.

Other PC's have no problem.

Removed and re-installed Windows media player and still not working.

Downloaded combined community codex pack and it did not fix anything.

Nothing critical here but just want to solve this problem.

what kind of file is it? And do you know what codec it is using for the audio?

Here's some good info that can help you troubleshoot and perhaps find the needed codec

Off to work but will try your suggestion when I return.

Do you want me to send you the file?

I got your original file Packy. The audio codec on that one is 0x0161 (WMA v2)

You can download it from the sourceforge link here http://www.afreecodec.com/codecs/0x0161/

I'd try that, and then try your original again, so you you don't have to worry about converting it anymore. FYI your original played fine for me, but I already had the 0x0161 codec package.

Could not get the download link to work.

Decided to re-install Windows media player to latest version but that did not work.

Will keep you posted on my progress.

This is not a critical issues just one I want to solve.

Try the zip file I attached. I got it from here http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DivX_WMA_Audio which is a pretty reliable site.
