I formatted, installed the latest ATI Driver, and I crash while playing games now. I don't get it, I have a new CPU Fan, latest drivers, and formatted and it still crashes while playing.

since ive got windows xp with sp2 i have intergrated it with the xp cd and i done a full clean format on my machine. When it finished i loaded up windows and i never installed a single driver. My machine runs very very sharp and chrisp now .. my games used to crash before playing half life 2 but now it doesnt. If your out there and have xp sp2 i suggest u do a clean boot and install without no drivers (except ones it asks for to install)

I tried installing SP2, but when I did my machine was very laggy and I couldn't connect to the internet. Now I have northgate tech telling me-

These games are to high end for your machine.

This is the reason why your computer is acting the way it is.

Thank you,

HP

While I've been playing these games on this computer for a year now.

Oh, and I don't know if this matters but when it shuts down the red light stays on (I think it's the LED).

Well HP is talking out there "butts", games dont do that if they dont meet the system requirements they just lag and end up looking like a slideshow.

Well, I think it's my CPU, while my friend thinks it's my video card. I told him that I don't think a video card could cause computer crashing. Also, before I had my new fan my CPU temp would get to 80-90C Average. Could this have caused damage to it and thus I need a new one?
