my computer will not load windows. a message comes up saying drive 0 seek failure and i never had a floppy ever in this machine. so i went into bios and while i was changing the settings for the floppy to not installed it shutdown by itself. i have tried many cables for the hdd still same error message. Before this all happened i was putting my case cover back on when my slave brushed a wire and the screen went black. I then manually rebooted by the power button and ever since then it has been displaying that error message if someone can help it would be of great help thanks.

For one, you should keep your slaves away from live wires, they have feelings to you know?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

What slave are you talking about and what wire are you talking about?

Go into the BIOS and check your boot order and make sure the floppy is not listed anywhere.

Remove CMOS battery for about 15 minutes. Replace and reboot. (My best guess is that should work. At least it did for me last time I got that error.

I just caught that too. Dang - why are you fiddling with your hardware if you aren't powered down and unplugged. NEVER play with stuff live.
