Hope this is the place to ask. Just installed WinX64 and it sees all IDE drives but not the SATA. My mobo picks it up in the bios. I did not use the F6 command when i installed WinX64 seeing as i was going to install the OS to my IDE drive and not SATA.

Should i then reinstall WinX64 and use F6 command and load Raid drivers for WinX64 even though i am not installing the OS to the SATA drive or can i install the RAID CONTROLLER afterwards in Win OS.

In the Device Manager it shows me the RAID CONTROLLER is not found. I did try to reinstall the software but it says its the wrong drivers i downloaded from Asus website. Now i did have a dual boot system of WinXP and WinX64 before and i used the same software to install the Raid Controller and it worked fine for both OS's

I downloaded the correct RAID drivers from here

That link does not work.

More than likely it is a driver issue. You do not need to do the F6 thing, you can install them after the fact.

To get the correct driver I would need to know the mobo model

this one should, but if it does not its a Asus K8V-X mobo. Yeah its what i thought i should be able to just device manager and update drivers for the Raid Controller using the downloaded x64 drivers from Asus site... Not working.

What gets me is that it did work with my dual boot, Winxp sp2 and WinX64

Yep thats the one.... used it on the dual boot in Winx64 bootup and it worked but not now that i have only WinX64 installed. When i had the dual boot i did do the F6 option even though i did not need to... that is the only difference.

But like you said there must be away to do it without reinstalling and using F6 option...

Damn drivers now suddenly are not compatible.

Dude got it sorted out. On the Asus website there was a link for latest drivers (beta) versions. I had downloaded it previously but thought not to use it.

Well i used it last night and voila the pc now sees the SATA drive... So the normal x64 drivers they supply does not work that well its the beta version that got it sorted.

Thx again for help
