Wireless camera shuts down wifi router

A buddy of mine put a wireless camera system in his house. When he activates cameras, the wifi router disconnects from internet. The camera system is not hooked into the computer. Is the signal too strong for the wifi to compete with?

It is possible that the camera is somehow interfering with the signal. What I would try if I were you is to go into your advanced router settings and try changing the WIFI channel to something different to see if you can get less interference that way.

If changing channel does not work then possible wireless mode too, but should not effect it after channel change. Make sure you check settings on both devices so that the wireless settings are not conflicting.
