Howdy folks!

Are there any performance differences between a Wireless NIC and a USB Wireless Adapter?

I like the transportability of the USB Adapter, but if a NIC is going to work better I would get that because I want to do online gaming (Call of Duty: United Offensive). I would hate to sacrifice game performance if I make the wrong choice.

Theareticaly NIC is going to work better for the simple reason that it is designed specificaly for networking and not alot else where as USB is more of a "Jack of all trades".

If it is for a home network though, there isnt going to be alot of difference between the two.

Both will see the same interference associated with a wireless device. One problems you may encounter is that USB has a lower precedence in the IRQ order. With a fairly fast machine this will not be an issue though.
