My home computer did not come with a wireless card. Yesterday, while not connected to my Wow internet modem, I continue to receive mail, and could surf the internet. Wow told me that their modems are not wireless and did not intall wireless. I'm thinking someone has installed a card in my computer and their is an WAP somewhere I dont' know about. How can I scan my computer for a hidden network since my wireless laptop couldn't pick it up?

I don't know about a hidden network but if you think you have an unknown connection, run:
netstat -an from a command prompt and see if you have an IP address. You can also try:
ping google.com or any other domain or external IP address.
If you get a reply from the server, then you have a connection.
