Hi everyone

I have an HP pavilion n5295. The hard drive crashed, followed by the monitor, so I now use a huge 1980's monitor to use the laptop.

I'm looking at buying a Dell D400 from ebay with 1.7GHz, 512 RAM, 40GB hard drive. Can I take out the memory (256 for HP) from my old hard drive and put it in the newer laptop? Is it easy to do? Would my HP stop functioning with little or no memory?

Thanks in advance!

No you cannot. The old laptop uses old memory that is not compatible with newer laptops.
