Anomaly detection systems

did you hear about the ADSs??
SPADE is a free, opensource and efficient ADS (view: http://www.silicondefence.com/spice )
and it is a preprocessor of snort (http://www.snort.org)
its mechanism is based on mathematics (probability, statistics, entropy...)

so let's analyse its features...any suggestion?

That URL does not work for Spade. I believe the correct URL is:

I have never heard of it, but have heard of SNORT, and have heard many great things about Snort. On that website above it says this about SPADE:

"The Statistical Packet Anomaly Detection Engine (SPADE) is a Snort preprocessor plugin developed by Silicon Defense to monitor network traffic and classify events by assigning each an anomaly score. SPADE isolates events that are given an anomaly score higher than a certain threshold and sends alerts through standard Snort reporting mechanisms."
