System upgrade, to make the server MORE stable than it already is. He scheduled this, so there is no problem.

Buffing up security! I like it!! :)

there's not a single reason for a server to be down to upgrade security,
with the exception of restarting the server. That takes all of 1.5min.

I'm not happy about 5min downtime at any point for any reason, not
even a scheduled one. This is where I always say experience and service
MATTERS 100%.

You absolutely get what you pay for.

You guys dont appreciate the cheap prices on offer here, for such a good service. So what? it goes down for 48 hours for upgrades once in a blue moon. Im still happy with my choice..

I would be asking why it goes down for so long??

hardware upgrade: 1-2 hours tops
Complete Reinstall OS: maybe 3 hours (with config as well)
server totally screwwed and the guy doesn't know what he's doing with it: 2 days. :D

Exactly. Security upgrade might slow performance for a bit during install then need a reboot, but two days? Is he coding the new security features himself? lmao

a service that goes down at all, is not a good service -- PERIOD. In
today's hosting world, there's very little to cause hosting to be down so
long other than user discretion or lack of education in providing the
service.

this is a crock, and whatever he's feeding you, stop taking it. This is
completely unacceptable, just ask anyone who has experienced good
service. 1 single hour, is unacceptable, let alone 48+. I wouldn't stand
for it on a FREE service! And that's precisely why I spent the few extra
dollars each month on hosting fees rather than worrying so much about
downtime or when it might go down. Now, since I run my own servers,
it's obviously not an issue because I take care if it all myself.

good for you - Sorry mate, but bragging about downtime as a good
thing? makes no sense to me. But what do I know, my sites haven't
been down for more than 5min in more than 6 months.

I guess service is where it's at, right?

I think that he is the person that posted in that forum. The owner of the hosting company.

Anyone else would be pissed if the server was down for ages! I know i would i dont care how cheap it is.

If i was running a business 2days without my site i could lose £100's of pounds. .. And you are saying you are happy? Are you crazy??

You should send you host an email, we will all recomend you for selling his services to other people becasue you are doing a good job on this thread.
