Hey all

I think this is the correct place to post.

My boss was thinking of adding something like AWStats onto our IIS Server so we can monitor the stats from the website.

This looks fine, I have seen AWStats work on LAMP Settings.

I just wanted any feedback from people who have installed AWStats OR ActivePerl on an IIS Sevrer, looking at security floors and bugs.

Thanks in advance.

I used it for a bit. It wasn't really all that bad, but I switched to Google Analytics simply because I liked it better.

My boss has a LAMP hosting. Although he is not a full developer he likes to play around.

He has CPanel with Awstats and prefers it to Google Analytics.
He is the boss.

I know there was some security floors with the older versions of Active Perl and Awstats which I believe have been fixed.

I have installed ActicePerl and Awstats on our old Web Server for testing purposes.

For Security I have created a virtual website with its own IP Address.
Thus not having Script Executable on the root.

Can you recommend any other security precautions?
