Please tell me how.

I appreciate it joebert. I really do, but I'm kind of confused with your instructions there. I don't have those three options for the menu with three names.

I have the file I need to CHMOD to 777 in www directory of WAMP. No FTP client set up or anything.

You need to ignore the word "chmod" then since you're on a Windows (WAMP) system.

You need to use the Windows permissions system.
Right-click the folder & click "properties", then select the "Security" tab.
You'll need to assign write permission to the account Apache uses, to find out which account that is, press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open task manager & select the "processes" tab, then look for the user that's next to the "httpd" process. (make sure Apache is running first *wink)

Okay, I right clicked in the directory where that file is located (site.dat) and clicked the tabe titled "Sharing" and the name in I put SYSTEM (the same account that is httpd.exe uses).

I think that's right. Am I right?

I don't think you need to share the folder, just make sure the owner of the httpd.exe process has "write" permission for that folder.

I'm the owner if I understood you correctly, but when I viewed the properties of he file I see tabs "General" and "Summary" but when I view the tabs of the directory I see tabs "General", "Shared", and "Costumize". But I might not be understanding you.
