Control panel alternatives

Ok... this is somtehing i now nothing about.

i've seen cpanel, siteworx, plesk.... what else....?

well.. i i think they all are payed.

Now that i have a server to admin my own i would like to have some control pannel install... it has to be a free alternative cause i wont pay for something to put in one computer for non-comercial purpose.
I only want to have it caause i think its practical, and in case some friend ask me to host a site, db, server, chronojob...etc etc etc etc

There is Ensim, Helm, Interworx.... There are tons. What platform are you looking for and what features are you looking for?

i use debian.

I want to be able o offer my friends the possibility of menanging their own ftps websites, and i would like it to have script intalation facilities like fantastico.

i check those... they are not free
