ok so i know how to do a custom 404 error page and i used this in the .htaaccess file:

ErrorDocument 404 http://www.onlygoodanimes.com/404.php

so if i wanted to do a custom 403 forbidden would i just put this under the 404 error code?

ErrorDocument 403 http://www.onlygoodanimes.com/forbidden.php

edit: what i want to do is have all the ips i ban to show the http://www.onlygoodanimes.com/forbidden.php file but when i ban my own ip and try to view the site, it doesnt show the custom 403, just the standard 403 every site shows

Yes, that is correct. It is quite simple and straightforward, as you can see. :)

It may not be showing yours because you did not clear your browser cache first. Try making the change, then clearing your browser cache and trying again.

yea its a file but you wouldnt be able to see it in your 'file manager', the only way i was able to view the file was through ftp.... all you do is edit the .htaccess file in notepad, save it than upload it and overwrite the file..........for

ErrorDocument 404 http://etcetc.com/sldkjs

than you make a custom 404 page lol best i could explain it
