Is the Halo dedicated server still a Windows-Only thing? Or did Micro$oft finally wise up & release a Linux server?

Btw, I've got a couple of boxes with ev1servers.net (formerly RackShack.net).. I've had them over a year now, and no problems.

Well besides from rackshack having great personel availability for support, they lack the general know how (as shown on occasion) as far as technical issues are conserned, I was with them from july 2002, untill about 1 month ago.

If your looking for great, servers for gaming on the east coast let me know. benoit[at]dataracks.net

What were your problems with RackShack?

Because, as far as I've seen their "general know how" is pretty good. People usually complain because they rent unmanaged servers, where they are the administrators with the root password, and when they figure out that they don't know what they're doing, expect RackShack/EV1 to configure their software and install things for them. :)

That type of support isn't what you're paying for, so that's why they're not providing that kind of support. :)

If there's a software misconfiguration on your system, or your system gets hacked, it's your problem. Not theirs.

Very understandable, all my problems were hardware related for the most part.
My main problem with them was, pulling my server and reformatting(mistake on their end)....costing me money.

Oh, really? That's a bummer..

We've got one of their Celery 1.3Ghz servers, and some of the Dual Xeon 2Ghz boxes. The Dual Xeons are all Cpanel boxes, and run absolutely sweet. The Celeron is an Ensim server, and I absolutely hate it.

At the moment we're looking to shift the contents of the Celeron box onto one of the Dual Xeon servers, and drop our monthly bill a little bit.

My cousin absolutley loves halo he plays it with his brother,

I really dont like the idea of shooting games, bit evil really!

I like the adventure games.. like Final Fantisy, and racing games but not the evil ones.
