Regarding http://www.scottsdalehosting.com

I created a new site and went to upload it and found on their index page that they aren't taking new clients. An email exchange with their tech support went as follows:

[subject: what's up with the no new clients?]
Me: It concerns me. I'm in the process of moving my registrations away
from GoDaddy after this recent security blog fiasco, I'm now worried that
my hosting may not be safe.

I would really like some reassurance that you're not about to vanish
from the face of the earth.

Them: At this time we are not sure of the direction we will be taking. As for
now, we are not accepting new clients but maintaining all current
accounts. All customers will be safe until their renewal dates (if they are
on annual contracts), but there has not been any indication if we will
renew their accounts or cancel them at that point. If accounts are to
be canceled at the renewal date, we will notify each customer.

Unfortunately my hosting is up in nine days, so I've got to move. I hate leaving them because they've been fantastic in the two years that I've been with them, and their prices for hosting were pretty much unbeatable.

I'll probably end up with Dreamhost (pending reading more in this forum) but I wish I could find something cheaper: starving students make more than I do right now.

Anyway, THANKS SO MUCH for this forum! I have been looking for such a place for comments on hosting services but haven't found anything decent, it's always possible that I suck at searching. :D I look forward to reading the reviews.
