Is there a way to block someone from coming to your site if you don't know there Ip? Or figuring out someones ip, then blocking it? Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks :)

Cheers,

Just got this from a website:

Code: [ Select ]
<Limit GET HEAD POST>
order allow,deny
deny from 10.10.10.10
deny from 12.12.12.12.
deny from 143.13.13.13
allow from all
</LIMIT>
  1. <Limit GET HEAD POST>
  2. order allow,deny
  3. deny from 10.10.10.10
  4. deny from 12.12.12.12.
  5. deny from 143.13.13.13
  6. allow from all
  7. </LIMIT>

Just put IP address on each line with "deny from" in a .htaccess file.

What ip address? - Well you said you wanted to block someones ip address.

Do I put on each line? - Yes, like so:

10.10.10.10 = ip address
To add a new ip address just put:
deny from 'ip address' (without quotes) after the
order allow, deny
part.

<Limit GET HEAD POST>
order allow,deny
deny from 10.10.10.10
allow from all
</LIMIT>

No, you will require an IP address.

If you want to find out someones ip address look at your logs, and see the last persons who viewed your website.

You can do this in cPanel/DirectAdmin or ask your administrator.

Additional comment:

Do keep in mind that dial-up users have password changed all the time. Also its impossible to block a certan user from visiting your website. All they need to do is go to another location (library) to visit.

Sometimes even Broadband DNS refreshes. These are the certian issues you need to keep in mind.
