hey, just found a pretty good site with some good links to free hosts

http://myavatar.org/mkeller/hosting

sites kind of ugly, but they provide some pretty good links to some free hosts, and some good guidelines on what to look for in a host

Hi, i've tried to open some accounts on free hosts from this list http :// myavatar.org/mkeller/hosting but i resigned in some cases. Admins wants many personal informations, disc spaces are small, Ads (google ads) no allowed. 100webspace offers free hosting on Yahoo
Globalweb .ru wants 24h to accept application.

Freewebs is awful. It gets annoying when you reach your webspace limits on some free hosts, but on freewebs you have a file number limit. And it's a small limit. You end up having to make several accounts to fit a whole website on it, and then linking them all together.

I'd recomend it to anyone after a host. Can't go wrong with the price. £30/year is nothing really.

You guys all have cool logos. Nice work. Related question - Is there such thing as a free web host that gives you your own domain name? (or lets you use one you already have?)

No, free hosts only give you subdomains of the host, such as ***.cjb.net or ***.[banned domain]
