Sorry Cowkiller, but you have been on this site for a long time and i would be very surprised if you didn't know that this kind of topic didn't belong in another forum.

but look at all the replys already... lol it did not really fit in the os part, cose the friend i am looking this up for has both a mac and a pc(said it dont matter what one it works on). i guess it could have fit in the hosting but i was not really thinking at the time..

There are a few I would suggest:
  1. smartFTP
  2. FileZilla portable
  3. FireFTP extension


I use smartFTP at home and its super simple in terms of how to use it.

FileZilla is a portable FTP client I use for when I am unable to install things on certain PC's [ such as uni ].

FireFTP is basicly an add-on for FireFox that lets you use it as a FTP client, not tired it myself yet, but seems novel enough.
