Hi!

This is the first time I've had to access a website that uses Frontpage, so I'm having a bit of difficulty trying to figure out traffic statistics from the server log files.

First of all, I understand that the log file is supposed to be found in the _vti_log directory, but there is nothing there. Is there supposed to be something there? How do I enable logging?

I also don't have Frontpage on my computer...so am I at a loss?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Where your hosting company stores its log files is all really based on the individual. You would have to ask them to find out where/if you can access your Access & Error log files.

Hi Axe, thanks for the response. I'm afraid that's probably going to have to be the case...I just don't have contact details for the hosting provider at hand, and I wanted to be sure it wasn't something that I could do on my side.

Well, if you've been provided with Cpanel, often there are logs available through that interface, and sometmies they're automatically created somewhere within your home directory, which you should be able to access via FTP.

So, you can try looking there first if you can't get hold of your host straight away.

usually with most standard hosting there is a control panel you use to access statistical info. it doesnt matter whether they used frontpage or not it shouldnt make a difference
