Help on making a web site to host from my own tower

How can I make my web site to be hosted on my own tower and what do I need besides IIS?

well firts you need a very fast connection maybe a t3 second you can install something like phpdev or easy php and that should have a server running.

Sounds like he wants to use IIS, which means ASP / ASP.net will be the supported scripting technologies.

To answer your question, you would want a fast connection (as stated above) as well as a static IP. On top of that you may want a database server, if you want to go free mySQL is usually the recommended choice, I like PostGre myself as well. If you have some money to burn, SQL Server is an amazing DBMS.

Other than that, you wont need much. IIS is rather flaky at times, so I would recommend having it run on its own box, preferably running some sort of Windows Server technology. Windows Server 2003 with the new IIS would be my choice.
