I take you mean you think that there is more than one site on the same server that your site is being run on?

I seriously doubt you will have the same IP address as another site.
(it can and does happen... but unlikely)

You really need to try and be a little clearer in your post, so that we might be able to help you better... But I am sure you will find out there are many people here that are only too happy to give you their time and advice to help you out.

Good luck.

Two sites CAN have the same IP BlueHat. It depends on how it's done, but some ISP's will host on shared servers. Instead of asigning an IP address to each site they do a virtual "redirect". They redirect to the appropriate directory based on the URL, but it is the same IP (albeit masked when doing a whois search). I have three clients on such a setup. I don't think it's the best solution, but it's a cheap solution.

you can have as many domain names as you want on one IP address, although it is unlikely that this is the cause of your site being slow, cdx. It is probably that your provider has a slow and/or overloaded server. I suggest that you go looking for another hosting provider.

Two good ones that I use are
http://5dollarwebs.com/ and
http://yrhost.com/

Yes, the actual number of people on that one server will effect the download speed of your site. There are also a lot of security issues that need to be addressed with shared hosting. If someone hacks into a site that happens to be on the same server, and gains control of the database (In some kind of mysql or php exploit) your site will be vulnerable to him/her as well.

Also if someone on that server writes a bad program it could shut everyone done for awhile.

But it is a lot cheaper than a dedicated host, and I don't usually see people with major problems on a shared server. You might consider getting a dedicated ip, if your host has that option.

There is no real way to tell as hosts have multiple servers.

The best way is to ask them!

There is no way to do it with IP check?

Hey , I am watching, I'm used to a notification mail when someone post a reply, so I feld something strange when I didn't get any, so I came to check the board again... ;)

Well, the point is, that I have a long relationship with my hosting company. I am paying 15$ per 70MB unlimited band.... This is quite good, but I am having some problems with them.

The company told me that there are 19 other sites on the same server, and I think it's too much. They said I am the only one complaining, but I think I don't ask too much. I want my pages to be found, the scripts to work , and that's it.

I think I am moving to a new server....

Thanks for everyone,

Cdx.
