that's not too bad.
I thought forums need massive space like 1 gb !

So i will go for a plan of about 500 mb juz to be safe...

in my opinion, hosting forums, depending on how popular you'd expect it to be, the storage space is the least of your worries. I think the bandwidth is a more significant factor.

Yeah, it really does depend on the size of hte site...

The database for one of my sites was using 200Meg up until a few days ago when I deleted 300,000 stray records in one of the tables, now it's down to about 150Meg, heh (and that's the actual MySQL storage space, not a .sql file gzipped).

I've got other sites that only use about 5-10Meg (they've only been going a month or so, so haven't really built up the content yet).

But all these sites are primarily database driven scripts. None of the actual content is stored in straight text files or HTML files - obviously images are actual files, that'd be too much strain to have them stored in the database.

Since it all depends on how big your forum is based on (as everybody has pointed out), I chose the smallest plan- about 100 mb, 2 gb bandwidth
most importantly ....
- I am familiar with the web host provider
- I can upgrade to a higher plan anytime I want... ease of upgrade
- it costs only 3 USD/mth

(at)jnacool, hope this helps in yr business!

unfortunately, I cant show plan details hsot provider. PM if interested
:P
