IIS quick question

Once i have installed IIS :lol: on XP Pro
Then what address do i type into the address bar from a computer not in my house to access my site?? :? derrrrrr

I take it you are A) broadband, B) running it on the same machine that accepts the internet connection from your broadband provider.
If the answer to those two are yes, (shudder) grab your IP by doing a ipconfig /all command from a DOS prompt.

If you are behind another device such as DSL router, which in some instances provides a natted address (192.168.x.x), you need to open the DSL router up to permit port 80 traffic to pass straight through to your (shudder) Windows machine.
Again, use the external IP provided by your broadband company as the web IP.

Additionally, you can use a service such as myserver.org for dynamic hostname to IP resolution. This would permit you to attach to http://www.yourhost.myserver.org.

If none of this makes any sense, it might not be a good idea to just toss up a webserver willy-nilly. There's lots of people around here that offer inexpensive solutions... and safe ones at that.
