right iv installed IIS and when i type http://localhost/localstart.asp in browers i get:
Your Web service is now running. To add documents to your default Web site, save files in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\.

So iv saved a file called index.htm in the above root folder, (index.htm displays Hello)

when i type: http://PNM-3P0G23ZDBFS or http://localhost i get Hello,

But what address would i type in a remote computer to view this page?

Thanks

Unless you've set up your computer with a static IP as a web server with your ISP (which most aren't going to let you do) only the computers on your internal network will be able to access it. They would type in http://PNM-3P0G23ZDBFS/index.htm (assuming PNM-3P0G23ZDBFS is the name of your computer)

Or, you could use a service like myserver.org to assigna name to a dynamic IP -- such as provided by your ISP.
Then you can hit the box by a domain name.
Cheers.

Please don't start new threads on the same topic. I merged your other one with this one. Please wait for an answer here.

Not only is ATNO right, but the question being asked, has already been answered -- if I am understanding the query correctly.

If instead of an IP, you wish to use a host.domain name, see my previous reply.

Cheers.
