You're not answering the question.

Who owns the rights to the tunes themselves?

Even works of art that don't have copyright, like many classical pieces. Beethoven's dead, nobody else owns the rights to his songs, anybody can play them.

HOWEVER, that doesn't mean you can go buy a CD of Beethoven music and let people download it off you. Even though the tune itself may be copyright free, the orchestra or band that recorded it would own the copyright to the recording.

So, who owns the license to the tunes? Who owns the license to the recordings you wish to serve?

We understand that the guy is dead, his wife's dead, everybody's dead Jim. That's not what we're asking.

Again, just so it's a little less subtle.

Who owns the license to the tunes? Who owns the license to the recordings you wish to serve?

Here is a question, if the music is recorded by the artist himself, and he is dead. Who owns the rights then.

That's what we're asking you. Who does own the rights? If this music was published on a CD, contact the publishing company. THEY may possibly own the rights to it.

You shouldn't be asking us who owns the rights. We don't know, we don't even care if we're not hosting it. That's what YOU need to determine.

WE can't host you unless we know that the material that YOU wish to provide is LEGAL.

If you cannot show us that what you are looking to serve is 100% legal, we can not provide you with information regarding hosting, nor offer hosting ourselves.

If never published or sold the works would still be protected for decades.
